A number of years after my marriage I became a helpless...
A number of years after my marriage I became a helpless invalid, and my despair was great, especially on my husband's account. After about seven years of this suffering, my family physician told me there was nothing for me but continued invalidism unless I underwent another operation, and this I refused to do. The next week, unknown to anyone, I went to a Christian Science practitioner, and from the first treatment began to get better. I can never forget the hope, peace, and assurance that came to me. My husband saw my improved condition, and when I told him what had helped me, he did not say a word against it, but declared that he did not care what it was so long as I was better. That was thirteen years ago, and I have not taken a drop of medicine since. During this time several ailments have been overcome by Christian Science, including tonsillitis and bladder trouble. An injured ankle was also healed. Every member of my family has become an earnest student of this wonderful teaching.
I am grateful for the physical healing, but the satisfaction in knowing God and His ever operative laws of good is much more to me. Every day I give thanks that I have learned even a little about this great truth. I am most grateful that Christian Science heals sorrow, and thankful to realize that in reality there is no death, but life everlasting and omnipresent. I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for revealing to us the laws of Truth in Science and Health, which enables us to understand and love the Bible as never before.
