It is with the deepest love and gratitude to God that I add a little to the mighty strain of praise which is ascending to Him daily all over the world. When on a visit to Ladonia, Texas, in 1912, I stopped off in Dallas to see my brother and his family. I had been in ill health for fifteen years, suffering from nervousness, headache, neuralgia, and stomach and bowel troubles, and had just about given up hope. While I was sitting in the park one afternoon, a gentleman came up to me and asked if I was troubled about anything. I told him yes, as I had just about decided to get out of this world on account of my ill health. He then inquired if I had ever tried Christian Science, and when I said no, although I had tried almost everything else, he said he could help me and asked if I would mind going to the Wednesday evening testimony meeting with him. As I consented to go, he called for me that evening and I went with him. During the meeting a testimony was given that gave me a great deal of encouragement, so when I had made my visit to Ladonia and returned to my home I took up Christian Science and had treatment from a practitioner here. In three months I laid aside my glasses, which had been worn for six years, and several ailments have disappeared since. I am very thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for this.
