For the past twenty years Truth, God, as revealed in...

For the past twenty years Truth, God, as revealed in Christian Science, has been my only physician, and when the teachings in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, are honestly and persistently applied according to the rules given therein, success is certain. Several years ago one of my fingers was smashed by a swinging door. Instantly the thought from the first epistle of John came to me, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear," and so clear was this realization of the truth that the nothingness of matter was seen; hence no pain was experienced, and all fear of accidents subsided instantly. A bandage was worn on the finger for a couple of weeks, and finally the injured portion grew together again and a new nail replaced the old one. The finger is now in perfect condition. Through the realization of the allness of God, good, and the nothingness of the belief of life, substance, and intelligence in matter, four wisdom teeth were recently extracted without the use of gas, and no pain or discordant after effects of any kind were experienced.

Of course I am grateful for these and many other proofs I have had of God's power and presence; but I am more grateful for the truth about God and man that Christian Science is teaching me, for all that is included in the Christian Science movement, and to those who are assisting in carrying on its work. My greatest desire is that I may prove through deeds rather than words my thankfulness to God and to Jesus the Way-shower, as well as my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, whom I am learning more each day to revere and to recognize as, indeed, our Leader.
