In 1889 I was taken down with typhoid fever

In 1889 I was taken down with typhoid fever. I spent three weeks in bed, was then sent to the coast, and for six months had chills. In or about 1900 I again had an attack of typhoid. At this time my wife and I were members of the Christian Science church and she treated me. I came home from work Wednesday evening sick, and went back to work Saturday morning—well. A doctor who was a friend of ours called about something Saturday noon, and said there was typhoid in the house—he could smell it. He searched everywhere, even to the closet which held pots and pans, and went away puzzled.—H. C. Thompson, Walla Walla, Wash.
