With a deep sense of gratitude for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life I send this testimony. About five years ago something of the true teaching and works of Christian Science was told to me, and shortly afterward I asked if it would help our little boy, two years old, who had been sick most of his life. The answer came back lovingly that it would if I gave it a fair trial. I decided to do so, and have been grateful ever since that I did. The child was completely healed overnight of a severe case of fever and congestion of the lungs. Later he was freed from bowel trouble for which we had given him some material remedy all his life. He has had nothing but Christian Science treatment since, and is now a strong, healthy boy.

Having been a sufferer for years, I had come to believe that I would always be sick, so did not think of healing for myself, but I went to see a practitioner to gain a better understanding of what Christian Science teaches and does. From the first treatment I was healed of bowel disorder of fifteen years' standing and have had no return of it. During one week's treatment, in addition to the above healing, I was freed from sleeplessness, nervousness which at times had bordered on prostration, headaches of lifelong standing, and a spinal injury from which I had suffered untold agony for years. I had been told by a specialist that I could not be cured. Glasses which had been worn for fifteen years were also laid aside. To be thus freed after years of pain meant much, but the desire to express more kindness and gentleness toward God's children and to try to see them as His perfect reflection was the true healing.

The path has not always been easy, but I am grateful for the very experiences which have forced me to rise above the human self. One of these was the development of dropsy, together with heart and stomach trouble. Conditions finally caused me to ask for medical treatment, and through the experience with it I was freed from the belief that matter could heal. To show how beautiful and wonderful the healing through Christian Science was, I might state some of the opinions of the medical men. One said he would not take the case, another said all that could be done was to keep me under an opiate, and the time came when I could not be given enough of the drug to gain any rest. Although in this extreme condition when Christian Science treatment was begun, I was healed in three weeks. At the end of that period all the bloating was gone and every ailment had left, so that I experienced a state of health never known in my life before.
