When I came into Christian Science I read the testimonies first, and the reading of the wonderful healings brought about by prayer made me very happy and grateful. I knew that I too would be healed some day. While yet in my own country I heard about Christian Science, but in an antagonistic way, and I loudly protested against it and looked down upon its followers. I had always been a very delicate child and needed lots of attention to be kept alive and healthy, as was supposed, with all kinds of material remedies. I see now that if I had been taught to know God in the way children are taught in the Christian Science Sunday school, I would have been better off. When older I needed a rest cure after hard study, and it was also found that my heart and lungs were in a bad condition; in fact, the doctor said he would not stand for the consequences if I walked more than fifteen minutes a day.

After leaving home I learned to think for myself, and I chose to give Christian Science a fair trial. One can imagine my joy and gratitude when after the first treatment, which was an absent one, I could run upstairs without losing my breath. I got well soon after that. This healing occurred over six years ago and I am getting stronger and happier every day. I am glad to be healthy, but the joy which comes from knowing that this wonderful truth is for everybody who is willing to accept it, is even greater. A few years ago I had four teeth taken out in one afternoon. A practitioner was asked to be present, and the extracting was done in a few minutes without any pain. It was a wonderful experience to me. Minor ailments have been overcome, often instantaneously, among them headache, sore throat, and influenza. I am thankful for class instruction, as a result of which I am getting more and more understanding of the truth.

I have no words to express my gratitude for all the spiritual blessings this teaching has brought me; the knowledge that God is infinite Love and fills all space, that all this discord in Europe cannot exist in God's creation, has given me great peace, and all anxiety for my dear ones over there has gone. God is right there and that is sufficient.
