I feel it a duty as well as a privilege to send my testimony,...
I feel it a duty as well as a privilege to send my testimony, that it may help some one seeking the truth. I find God an ever present help in time of trouble. I am the mother of three little children, all of whom were born without the usual suffering. Through treatment from a practitioner I was healed of three small lumps in one of my breasts, and a large one under my arm. The pain was so severe that I could hardly nurse my baby until I finally realized the truth, after which I slept fairly well that night. When I arose the next morning, however, I was so weak that I lay down again until I realized that God was my strength and that error could not keep me from my duties toward the little ones. I soon rose, but feeling miserable I telephoned to my aunt, who is a Christian Science practitioner, and asked her to treat me. That afternoon I felt better and next morning I was practically well. My neck was a little stiff and the lumps were not quite gone, but the following day all had vanished.
I have been able to overcome fevers, colds, and bowel stoppage for the children by the study of the Lesson-Sermon. My eldest daughter, when fifteen months old, was healed of what is called bloody dysentery. She awoke one night with a high fever and soon the bowel trouble developed. My mother was with me at the time and we declared God's allness. The fever ceased and the child soon fell asleep, but in the morning it seemed best to ask my aunt for help. By the third day one would hardly know that the child had been sick. Two other children in the neighborhood were afflicted with the same trouble and had medical treatment. One of them passed away, and the other was sick five or six months and is still to mortal sense a frail child.
We live on a farm and find God our only help for all discord, even when expressed in the stock. For all these healings and many other blessings I am more than thankful. The way which Jesus taught and proved by healing the sick is again made clear in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, for which I express my gratitude also.—Mrs. Ray Jerome, Goffs, Kan.
