My heart overflows with gratitude for my knowledge of...
My heart overflows with gratitude for my knowledge of this truth and for the many blessings that have come to me in the past eight years. When Christian Science first came into my life, although I did not take it up especially for the physical healing, I was healed in two treatments of a complete nervous breakdown. Later, through the reading of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of chronic bowel trouble of fifteen years' standing, also of neuralgia of the face which for a number of years had manifested itself during the winter months, so that I was never free from it for any length of time. About a year afterward the latter ailment returned with what to mortal sense was an ulcerated tooth, but with the help of a practitioner, not only was the tooth saved but the neuralgia was overcome and has never returned.
While the physical healings were indeed wonderful to me, that for which I was most grateful was the spiritual uplift. For about one month I read the textbook almost night and day, and surely did dwell "in the secret place of the most High;" but in my case the testing time soon came, and for more than three years I passed through what to mortal sense seemed deep waters. Discord of almost every nature was manifested in the family, but to-day nearly every member of the family has been benefited by Christian Science or is interested, at least in some degree, in it.
I am grateful for the overcoming of fear, also of the sense of limitation, and of every discordant condition that manifests itself in daily experience. I rejoice in the privilege of membership in The Mother Church, also in the branch church of this city. I am thankful to God that He sent us the Comforter, and that there was one pure enough to bring this wonderful truth to suffering humanity.
