This testimony is written so that all may know of at least...
This testimony is written so that all may know of at least a part of the good which has come to me through Christian Science. While coasting one day my little son ran into a stone wall, cutting a hole entirely through his upper lip and disfiguring his nose and forehead dreadfully. A doctor was immediately called, also a Christian Science practitioner, and by the time the doctor arrived the practitioner was already at work. Although three stitches had to be taken in my son's lip, the following day he declared there had been no sense of pain when it was done. There was no discoloration following the accident, as the doctor had predicted, and the swelling gradually disappeared. A few minutes after the stitches were taken the boy went to sleep and slept most of the time for two days. The doctor marveled at his rapid recovery, for on the third morning he was up and dressed. Within two months all marks had left his forehead, his nose had straightened, and the scar on the lip was hardly noticeable.
My little daughter has been healed of a large tubercular gland on the neck, and her whole physical and mental condition has been greatly improved. Recently an abscess on my lip vanished, and about three years ago my eyes were instantly healed of a structural defect during a Wednesday evening meeting. Glasses had been worn for over two years and the oculist said they would always be needed. My eyes are used all day and even late into the night for the most trying work. Through the study of the Lesson-Sermon an internal trouble, for which my physician deemed an operation necessary, was overcome in less than a week.
These are only a few of the blessings which God has bestowed upon us. He has also been the source of my supply for three years, and has led me, by means of the patient and wise counsel of a practitioner, through the deepest valleys and darkest nights of mental depression out into the sunshine of Truth and Love. I am deeply grateful to God for His wonderful kindness, and to Mrs. Eddy for helping me to know Him as a kind and loving Father. My heart sings with gladness to be able to write this testimony of the omnipotence of good.
