From the depths of a grateful heart I want to testify...
From the depths of a grateful heart I want to testify to the wonderful healing power of Truth as demonstrated through Christian Science. In the spring of 1907, after a severe trial, a dear sister came to visit me and gave me some Sentinels to read. In the fall I went to visit her in order to find out more about this Science, but I did not understand what she said about it. The next day after my arrival I walked down town, and as there was a lot of soft snow on the ground my feet became very wet. The following morning the old ailments, headaches and stomach trouble, kept me in bed. My sister talked to me about Christian Science, and in the afternoon I was able to dress and go home. I have since been freed from the necessity of using glasses, though they had been worn for twelve years and the oculist said I would never be able to do without them. This healing came through the reading of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Varicose veins have also been healed.
In the fall of 1912 I found my husband unconscious, overcome by gas from an engine. I turned to God at once, knowing He alone could save him, and for two hours worked for him in Science. He then recovered consciousness and walked to the house almost without help. An hour later he ate a good meal and was well. We have had many good demonstrations in our family. Sometimes I have had to ask for help, which has always been quickly received, and now my health is perfect.
When I took up Science, my little boy four years old was off and on troubled with different diseases. With my small understanding he was healed of fever in one week, and earache in the worst form was overcome in one night. He is now twelve years old, big and strong, willing to do anything good. The older children have also been helped in many ways.
