With a grateful heart I send this testimony of what Christian Science...
With a grateful heart I send this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me, and my sincere hope is that it may bring a ray of light to some sufferer who is trying to break the bonds of material belief. It is now three years since the study of Christian Science was taken up. At that time I was to mortal sense very near death's door, from what was said to be tubercular disease. I had tried every material remedy known to my physicians, had traveled in New Mexico, Colorado, and on the Pacific coast, but had received only temporary benefit. Each time after my return home my condition seemed worse. At times my husband was obliged to carry me up and down the stairs. I was unable to do any housework or even superintend it, and life each day was full of pain and discouragement.
At last the attending physician said he could do no more, and that the end would probably come in a few months, but with strong tonics I might live a year. Then my family and friends urged me to try Christian Science. For two or three days I read Science and Health but seemed to get little understanding of it, so a practitioner was called. In five treatments my healing was complete, and there has been no return of the disease in any form. Severe headaches were also overcome. Instead of misery and sorrow, life is now full of health and happiness.
At the time I began to have treatment we placed our nine year old son under the practitioner's care, as the physician feared that lung trouble was fast developing. He coughed so violently at night that we were often obliged to prop him up with pillows before he could sleep. Besides this, he had worn glasses for a year and a half, and the oculist said he would most probably have to wear them all his life. In less than two weeks he had laid aside the glasses, as his eyes were perfectly normal. He was likewise entirely healed of the cough and all other discordant conditions. From being a delicate, sickly child he is now a strong, robust boy. Our younger son was healed in a few hours of a severe gathering in the head, and my husband of carbuncles, after suffering from them for more than six months.
