My interest in Christian Science was aroused through my wife's healing of appendicitis. We were making all arrangements for the operation, of which my wife was in great dread, when it was recommended that we give Christian Science a. trial. We did so, and while the healing seemed somewhat delayed, we were thereby given an opportunity to learn what holds one in bondage. This healing occurred in 1911, and no operation has been necessary.

I should also like to tell of the blessings that an understanding of Christian Science brings to those who have a sincere desire for God, or good. A few years ago my wife and I expressed a desire to have a little child in our home. We thought it would be a great blessing if we could adopt some little one who might not be welcome in its present surroundings, as is the case with a great many. We both held to this desire, and apparently without effort on our part we received a call by telephone to the effect that a nine months' old baby girl was in this unwelcome position. We immediately realized this to be our opportunity, and with as little formality as necessary the child became our own.

It would be useless to try to express the joy and happiness we receive every day from the love this little one is reflecting. We are most grateful to God and thankful to Mrs. Eddy for this and other demonstrations of the guidance of divine Love.— Horace C. Howe, Boston, Mass.
