My healing in Christian Science occurred nine years ago

My healing in Christian Science occurred nine years ago. For fourteen years I had been ill with serious internal trouble and nervous breakdown, spending most of my time lying down or in bed, and in much pain. Two severe operations had been performed, and I had spent over two and a half years in clinics, besides trying water cures, electricity, and massage. During this time about forty doctors were consulted. Through the loving and patient care of a practitioner Christian Science was then made clear to me, and in three months I was cured of chronic enteritis. Gradually all the serious internal troubles, as well as other physical ailments, completely disappeared, and depression, which had made life a misery, was soon replaced by an ever-increasing joy.

When starting treatment I left off glasses after having worn them for eight years. An operation also had been performed in the hope of improving the sight and easing the pain, but it was unsuccessful. Now, however, I can read small print without glasses and my sight compares favorably with that of the average person. Formerly I was obliged to live abroad in a mild climate, and even then many weeks every winter were spent in bed with throat trouble and severe colds, in addition to all the other troubles. The last nine years I have lived in London, and have been in good health, leading the happy life of a busy Christian Science practitioner, active branch church member, and Sunday school teacher.

I am very thankful for the great privilege of active service in our glorious cause, and grateful for membership with The Mother Church, also to Mrs. Eddy for bringing to suffering and sinning humanity Christian Science, that practical understanding of the healing Christ which leads us straight to God, divine Principle, Love.
