It is with a feeling of deep gratitude for the understanding...
It is with a feeling of deep gratitude for the understanding of the Bible which I have gained through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," that this testimony is written. I was healed of serious nervous and heart trouble through Christian Science treatment. I had reached the mental state which knows no peace or rest, and was in fact very sick, both mentally and physically, at the time the text-book was given me to read about seven years ago. Physicians had said there was no cure for the nervous trouble; that I was a physical wreck. Then, too, I was in deep sorrow, and my grief seemed beyond human endurance. With it all, I was tired of living at the time I began to read the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health. I cannot express the joy that came with the realization that God does not send sickness and sorrow to His children, and that I had a right to life, health, and happiness.
Since coming into Christian Science I have had many difficulties to surmount, but with my understanding of Truth and the help of a loving and patient practitioner, I have been able to rise above them. The way has seemed dark at times, but by clinging steadfastly to God, and knowing that He is Love and an ever present help, relief had never failed in the hour of need. I cannot express my thankfulness to God, also my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for this understanding of Truth. Christian Science has been the greatest blessing that ever came into my life; it has brought that peace "which passeth all understanding." I am also deeply grateful to all who have helped me on the way.
