Christian Science has cured members of four generations...

Christian Science has cured members of four generations of my family. My grandmother was healed first, many years ago, of a very serious stomach disorder of long standing; my mother was healed of varicose veins and numerous other ills; my niece, of paralysis caused by an overdose of poisonous medicine taken during an attack of a throat disease; and myself when a young girl of lung trouble, and since that time of other ailments. This winter we four are together under one roof, and we find that time is indeed only "mortal measurements" (Science and Health, p. 595), and that there is no disparity of age when we study together the words of life given in the Bible and our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. We meet in Christian Science on a common plane, and find that the youngest is not too young to grasp the meaning of its profound statements, nor is the eldest too wise to appreciate its sweet simplicity and to turn with childlike confidence to the Father. Other members of the family have also been healed, and we are very grateful.

What Christian Science means to me individually is beyond human expression. I can liken it to nothing but the "white stone" mentioned in Revelation, which is to be given to "him that overcometh," and "in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it." My deepest experiences I cannot tell, but when I have been ill, Christian Science has led me to the great Physician, and I have found healing; when I have seemed to lack, it has opened for me the channels of Love's infinite supply; when I have needed wisdom, it has taught me to look to the "Father of lights," and I have always found enough to meet the need; when I have sorely needed the Comforter, it has revealed to me the "Spirit of truth" which the Master promised, and taught me to apprehend, in the measure in which I have sought, man in God's image, "complete and forever expressed" (Science and Health, p. 519).

For all these blessings I am thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who had love enough for mankind to want to give us what she had gained through leaving all things for Christ.—Thora B. Buchanan, St. Joseph, Mo.
