When but a child of twelve I first heard of Christian Science through an aunt who had been wonderfully healed. I learned the "scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468) and applied it for several slight ailments that appeared, finding it all sufficient to meet my childish needs. Since growing to womanhood this healing truth has never failed me, and knowing that health, harmony, happiness, peace, all good, are ever of God, I know it never will.

I have proved through Christian Science that there is no truth in heredity. A severe throat trouble from which I suffered every winter was supposed to be inherited, but it has disappeared entirely. I no longer fear or have colds in winter as formerly. For this healing I am deeply grateful, also for the efficacy of Christian Science as a preventive. The knowledge that I can help others is a source of joy to me. In my work with the little ones each day I find many opportune moments when Science is indeed very effective. I am thankful that we always have this Christ-teaching at hand and can use it constantly.
