I desire to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...
I desire to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for my family and myself since 1888. For six years previous to that time I suffered from an ailment diagnosed by some of the best physicians in Denver as a malignant growth in the stomach. I was rarely able to retain any food and was virtually given up as incurable. My nearest friends and neighbors informed me later that they would not have been surprised at any time to learn of my passing on.
Our attention was attracted to Christian Science by the statement that it would heal incurable cases, and having no other hope my wife sent for a practitioner, who, not being able to come to our home, gave me an absent treatment, as I was at that time confined to the bed from hemorrhage of the bowels. As a result of the treatment I was able to get up and attend to business the next day. I then purchased a copy of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, to learn what brought about this favorable change, and while it seemed a strange language, we could see proofs of a Christlike and tangible religion that was efficacious to heal sickness as well as sin. Since that time countless blessings have been received. One of our daughters manifested all the symptoms of a virulent from of typhoid fever, but this attack was overcome within four or five days through the application of the truth as taught in Science and Health.
Through a fall I received an injury that I feel confident neither instruments nor material remedies could have reached, but was relieved in a few hours through Christian Science. This experience convinced me that the truth can and does reach the very "joints and marrow." A splintered bone was perfectly healed in a very short time. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner I had seven teeth extracted within five minutes without any fear or pain whatever, to the astonishment of the dentist.
