[Written for the Sentinel]

In the Forever Now

He liveth on in hearts whose deep perception
Lies in the truth uplifting and divine;
In deeds more noble than the world's conception
He liveth on.

He liveth on in joy's sublimer presage,
In prayers more real and e'en more truly blest;
In life more boundless—heaven's eternal message,
He liveth on.

Love cannot cease; there is oblivion never;
In the forever now he liveth on.
