Three years ago I became interested in Christian Science through attending a Wednesday evening meeting. Shortly afterward I was taken seriously ill with what was pronounced peritonitis and other complications, and the doctor said I would have to be operated on in a few hours. My husband, however, sent for a Christian Science practitioner, who had been a trained nurse for a number of years before coming into Science. She explained so clearly how all things are possible with God, that I decided to trust myself entirely to Him. While she was treating me I fell asleep, and when I awoke I knew the mental surgery was done, for the swelling had disappeared and I felt the healing power of Truth. We were deeply grateful for this proof of the truth of Christian Science, and we felt that if such suffering could be overcome through its teachings, it was certainly worth investigating. We therefore began to study the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, together with the Bible.

I am glad to state that my healing has been permanent. Since then we have had many demonstrations through the realization of the truth, but best of all is the spiritual uplift, and the desire it creates to know more of God. Constant patience and faithfulness are required, but it is only in the degree that we are mindful of the spiritual things that we can expect to be helped physically.

Words cannot express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who has given us our text-book, which shows us the way to right living and right thinking, and meets humanity's needs from a practical, intelligent standpoint.
