Christian Scientists are always grateful for the recognition of the splendid healing work that is being accomplished through Christian Science teaching, and therefore appreciate the kindly reference thereto in a recent issue in connection with the article of Dr. — However, if people are to receive the benefits of Christian Science, they must know the right basis thereof, which requires a correct statement. While it is true that fear and its results are destroyed through the healing work of this religion, that is simply one of its effects.

The teaching of Christian Science is based upon the Bible, and more particularly on the words and works of Christ Jesus. Its gospel and healing work are based upon Jesus' inspiration and example, and follow as the direct result of the effort on the part of Christian Scientists to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." Understanding God correctly, and realizing the right relation between Him and man, Christian Scientists attain to that promised transformation "by the renewing" of their minds. This places the healing upon the proper spiritual foundation.
