I wish to testify to the healing of a very painful and severely injured nose and face. While walking very rapidly in a garment factory where I was employed, I ran into a shaft with great force and was thrown with violence across it, striking my face on the floor. When I was able to raise my head I noticed blood flowing from my nose most profusely, and my first thought was that I was badly injured; but I was kindly assisted by my fellow employees until I could ask help from my employer, who was a Christian Scientist. All the time I suffered intense pain. I am pleased to state, however, that as soon as treatment was given in Christian Science the blood ceased to flow, the pain subsided, and in a short time I was perfectly free. Truly Christian Scientists know, as set forth on page 424 of Science and Health, that "accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind." I may add that the thought was voiced by an employee that doubt was entertained of my recovery, but within less than half an hour I was able to resume my work; and in less than one week all evidence of discoloration had disappeared.

I am truly grateful for this and other healings in Science, some of which have been slow but none the less sure; and I am thankful to God for the privilege of knowing of this healing power. — Mary Ambrose, Indianapolis, Ind.

I have enjoyed many benefits in Christian Science. One case of healing was quite vivid to me as well as to those around me. Upon arising one morning, about December, 1913, I found that I had the manifestations of mumps. I was able to clear my thought quite well from the fear of consequences, and as I was expected to be at my office as usual, I called up a Christian Science practitioner to have her treat me and ask her advice as to whether it would be better for me to go to the office or not. She lovingly advised me to telephone to my employer and tell him about it, saying that if he was willing, I could go to my work, as I had no pain whatever. He gave his consent at once for me to come. He and his wife were not interested in Christian Science and did not know much about it, they said, but they thought it was quite wonderful that I could take care of my work as usual and not be sick, as cases of severe illness with the same ailment had come to their notice.
