Oak Park, Ill. — At half-past six in the morning on Tuesday, June 30, there gathered a little group on the northeast corner of Oak Park avenue and Ontario street, to attend the ceremony of the laying of the corner-stone of Second Church. The church building was started June 1. The auditorium will seat a congregation of eleven hundred people without the obstruction of a single pillar in the upper auditorium. The Sunday school below will accommodate four hundred children.

Hempsted, N. Y. — Four years ago a number interested in Christian Science held their first service in this village. A little later, a reading-room was opened; then followed the organization as a society, the opening of a Sunday school, the holding of Wednesday evening services, and now they are incorporated as First Church of Christ, Scientist.

Connecticut. — The committee on publication has distributed 18,738 pieces of literature for the year. A summary of the distribution for the same time, as reported by sixteen fields, makes a total of 46,965 pieces, showing a grand total for the state of 65,703 pieces of literature.

Seattle, Wash. — Official announcement of the opening of the new First Church of Christ, Scientist, June 7, is contained in a communication to the press signed by Charles A. Griffity, president of the board of directors. The announcement reads : "The edifice is practically completed, and the first services will be held in the completed structure on June 7. The church is not ready for dedication, as it is not fully paid for. In order to complete their building, the board of directors issued bonds several months ago to the amount of eighty thousand dollars, half of which are still unsold. These bonds are secured by a first lien upon property valued at more than two hundred thousand dollars, and bear 7 per cent interest. The bonds are to be retired within a period of ten years, and not until this is accomplished, and evey obligation met, will the church be dedicated." — Seattle Times.

Richmond Hill, N. Y. — Dedication services in First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Richmond Hill, were held July 26. The building is located in Greenwood avenue, between Jamaica and Lexington avenues. It has a seating capacity of two hundred. The property is worth twelve thousand dollars. — Brooklyn Standard Union.

Portland, Ore.—The directors of Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, yesterday [April 1] filed articles of incorporation in the county clerk's office. — Portland Oregonian.
