In a recent issue appeared an article in connection with the growth of the various religious denominations in America, with particular reference to building operations. The report stated, among other things, that Christian Science has experienced a falling off. In this connection, you may be interested to know that the past year has seen greater growth than any previous year in the history of Christian Science. There are now approximately fifteen hundred christian Science churches and societies throughout the world, and new ones are springing up at the rate of about one every three days. Although Christian Scientists are spending large sums building churches, it should be borne in mind that the chief aim of Christian Science is to repeat the works of the Master in healing the sick, saving the sinner, and comforting the broken-hearted. Without these "signs," Christian Scientists hold that church building is of little consequence.
