There are many reasons why I am thankful to God for Christian Science. Every member of my family has received wonderful blessings. My wife was suffering from a relapse of acute lung trouble, and the doctor had said he could do nothing more for her, when we first decided to try Christian Science. She was healed, and went with me to New York on a business trip, all within ten days from the time we called the practitioner. Our little daughter fell and injured her arm close to the wrist. A doctor set the bones, and the healing took place under Christian Science without any inflammation, swelling, or pain. The next day she was out in our yard. Our little son was healed of ailments to which children are believed to be subject. I have been healed of severe burns on my face, affecting my eye. The specialist who diagnosed the case said the injuries might necessitate the removal of one of my eyes, but that fear was not realized. At another time I stepped on a rusty nail, which penetrated my foot to the bone. A neighbor, who was not a Scientist, predicted many unpleasant things for me if I did not immediately call a physician; but the healing took place without any complications whatever, after my own declaration of the truth. I have also been healed from a severe attack of appendicitis, and that immediately. I have overcome the tobacco habit entirely, not having touched the weed in nearly three years, whereas formerly I used tobacco excessively for many years, and have also been healed of other pernicious habits. A number of colds, coughs, and attacks of the grip have been quickly overcome through our understanding of God, and we have also healed others outside of our own home circle.

More than all this, every member of my family enjoys studying the Bible better than ever before. Soon after coming into Christian Science, about six years ago, we learned that the Bible is more than a history of what other people have done; it is a guide, to teach every one the way to be good and to do good, to be healed and to heal. Working with our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, we know that we are making spiritual progress. Christ Jesus promised, "Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do." Christian Science is teaching us how to ask in his name.
