Work
in the Christian Science Sunday school is often called foundational for the reason that the children who attend the Sunday school expect to become members of our churches, inasmuch as a child who attends long enough to catch a glimpse of the truth is likely to be a Christian Scientist always.
Observing
, as we often do, how willing Christian Scientists are to bear testimony to the healing power of Truth outside of the regular Wednesday evening meetings, we sometimes marvel that there should be any hesitancy on the part of those benefited to testify at these meetings.
Years
ago, when I was a very small boy and knew nothing of the exemption from fear which is the heritage of the normal man, I became very much imbued with the idea that there were ghosts lurking around dark corners, always on the watch to catch small boys.
From the time the Christian Science movement was started, something approaching half a century ago, down to the present, it has been usual for people who never think at all to follow the lead of others who have thought if possible less, in speaking of a Christian Science which is neither Christian nor scientific.
Ministers in charge of the orthodox churches complain that their congregations are small, that there is no enthusiasm any more, and it is hard to stir up an interest in the work of the church and to secure additions to the membership.

weeks ago we called attention to a letter from a physician in which, although these are not the exact words in which he expressed his thought, he boasted somewhat of the fact that a certain other physician had been elected to the Legislature of his state solely because he was a physicians and would use his position as a legislator to further the interests of his colleagues in their efforts to prevent the people from employing any method of healing other than that which they dealt in.
In
the fifth chapter of John's gospel we find a lengthy discourse by Christ Jesus on the subject of life as spiritually understood, and this teaching follows the account of the remarkable healing of a man who had for thirty-eight years been a helpless sufferer.
For some time I have felt impressed to give a testimony in acknowledgment of what Christian Science has done for me in healing my three-year-old son, who was very ill.
The wonderful blessings which I have experienced through Christian Science furnish the incentive to my public expression of deep-felt gratitude to God, and call forth my reverence toward the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
I send this testimony with the hope that it may serve to strengthen those who are interested in Christian Science and help them to see the truth of being.
Even before I became acquainted with Christian Science I believed God to be omnipotent, but I had been suffering for years with nervousness and stomach trouble.
