The reading of a testimony in the Sentinel has made me...
The reading of a testimony in the Sentinel has made me realize that I have been neglecting my duty in not offering my own before this time, so I send it with the prayer that it may be the means to lead some other sufferer to the source of all blessedness.
From childhood I was troubled with what the doctors pronounced an internal form of neuralgia. I did not know one day free from pain, and often my left arm was helpless. Three or four years ago the disease developed into an affection of the heart, for which three of the medical profession told me there was no known cure. Christian Science was brought to my notice in the summer of 1908, and in the fall of that year I purchased a copy of Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and began reading it to see if there was anything in Christian Science which I could accept. I was willing to believe, and read with such interest that I completely lost sight of my trouble until one day, after I had been reading two weeks, I opened the book and as I read page 392 (lines 15–17) I suddenly realized that I was healed. I did not know just when the trouble had vanished, but I could look back on three days free from pain of any kind, and I have had not the slightest return of the trouble.
I am truly grateful to God for His loving-kindness, and to Mrs. Eddy for her life of self-forgetfulness which made possible the reappearing of the great light of Truth. This light shows us unmistakably the path we must travel, and Truth lifts us out of the mortal dream and enables us to attain the "glorious liberty of the children of God."
