For over sixteen years I had suffered with a severe chronic ailment. I tried many remedies and had undergone a surgical operation in the hope of getting relief, with but little benefit. I think it was in 1901 that a copy of The Christian Science Journal was sent to our home by a lady who had received some benefit from Christian Science. I had never even heard of it before this time, and the copy was sent especially to my sister, but I took it up and read it. The testimonies given in it led me to send for a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, with the hope that I, too, might get relief from the ailment from which I had so long desired to be free, and after reading the book a number of times I was not only free from that trouble but my general health was very much improved. Many times since, in cases of slight accident I have escaped painful results by realizing the truth taught in Science and Health.

I am thankful to God for all the help which has been given me, both directly and indirectly, in Christian Science.
