About the last of August, 1910, I met with an accident, an experience which has fully proven to me the value of Christian Science as an ever-present help. While cutting a piece of siding with a knife, the tool slipped and cut the end of my finger off about half-way down the nail. The men with whom I was working at once suggested material remedies, and also mentioned the danger of blood-poisoning, and I will admit that their talk aroused in me a slight fear; but by striving to realize that there is only one power, even God, good, I wrapped a cloth around the cut and went home. There I read for some time in Science and Health, and tried to make the demonstration myself. After dinner my finger felt much better, but not feeling sure of my own understanding I called that evening upon a Christian Science practitioner and asked for treatment. My finger at once lost the painful throbbing sense, and I left much enlightened. I continued the treatments for a week, and at the end of that time removed the bandage from my finger. The cut healed very quickly, and I now have a perfect finger.
I am truly thankful for a knowledge of Christian Science and all that it has done for me, and I look forward to the day when every one will awake to know the power of Truth.
John L. Freeman, Kearney, Neb.
