[Written for the Sentinel.]

THE STREET OF GOLD

Led at our daily tasks,
Led when our tasks are done.
By one unerring Mind
From morn to set of sun.

Into the paths of peace
Now and forevermore;
All doubts and fears laid by,
All fruitless wrestlings o'er.

To work, to wait, to trust,
Ever Love's hand to hold;
This is the gate of pearl,
This is the street of gold.

Led at our daily tasks,
Led when our tasks are done,
By one unerring Mind
To victory bravely won.
