A copy of The Christian Science Journal for April has just come to our desk. In this connection we wish to state, in answer to whispered criticisms concerning the publication of extracts from The Christian Science Monitor in our columns once a week, that we are ready to give space to whatever movement is doing good for humanity, and we class Christian Science in this category. And further, we call attention to the fact that we publish once a week—whenever we can get the copy—the sermon of one or more of our local ministers. The Christian Scientists have no preachers, and in lieu of sermons we publish extracts from their official organ. The April Journal contains a roster of churches and practitioners in practically every country on the face of the globe, which is taken to mean that there must be merit in their teachings, else the movement would not have spread so thoroughly over the universe.
