Bangor (Me.) News
People are marveling everywhere at the remarkable growth of the Christian Science church in recent years. Nearly a hundred thousand people in the United States belong to this church. But there is really nothing remarkable about it. Christian Science claims to offer men a cure for worry, a bad disposition, wrong appetites, sensual passions, and all kinds of evil habits, and even bodily disease. And in thousands of cases men and women are cured of these mental and spiritual and bodily diseases. I believe that there are just as genuine religious conversions in the temples of Christian Science as ever occur in the halls of the Salvation Army. Only here, Christian Science has discovered and is making use of just the same power of God that has been committed to the church, but which the church, for some reason or other, has neglected to use.
