In a recent issue there appears a statement that "witchcraft, mesmerism, spiritualism, hypnotism, mind-healing, and other phenomena of the supernatural, all had their part in the making of Mary Baker Eddy and the Christian Science church."

The very oppositeness of Christian Science to all of the above-mentioned systems is an emphatic declaration that they were in no wise instrumental in the giving of Christian Science to the world. All of the so-called phenomena of the human or mortal mind are rendered null and void by Christian Science. It is not possible for the same fountain to send forth "sweet water and bitter," and therefore not possible for Christian Science to have had its foundation in something unlike itself. This Science is the Christ, Truth, come to this age, declaring and proving itself to be the message of Truth promised by the Master to lead his followers "into all truth."
