In reading the testimonies in our periodicals, I have noticed that the most of them were given years after the healing was done. In my own testimony I wish to tell of a healing that might well be called a miracle. A little girl was born to us in October, 1909, and at first she grew and seemed to be in good health; then, as she ceased to retain her food, it was thought best to change it. This was done, but the child did not get any better. The doctor then said that her stomach was very weak, and advised still another change. This we did, but in a week the child was fast losing flesh and strength, as she could not keep anything down. She was then about three months old, and the doctor told us that she had not been normal at birth and that there was only a small chance for her to live.

On Jan. 21, 1910, the baby was not expected to live until the next morning. She had never been free from pain, and she seemed to be in agony from the time she could not retain her food. When the case seemed so hopeless we were advised to try Christian Science. A practitioner was within three minutes' walk of our home, and she came to see the little one that evening. The child was freed from pain at once, and has not had any convulsions since. After the second treatment she retained her food, and in two weeks she was well. In two months she was a different child and has remained perfectly normal ever since. We are truly thankful to God for Christian Science; it has saved the life of our child and made us see that our heavenly Father does care for His children, and will help and heal us when we ask Him in the right way and heed His commandments.
