From childhood I had been frail and ill most of the time, never knowing anything but discomfort and poor health. As I grew older I had a constant fear of passing away, for it seemed I could not continue in this state much longer. I had reached the point where I was completely discouraged and unable to attend to my household duties, having tried different physicians and all the material means that I knew of. I then decided to try Christian Science, with the result that I am a well woman and able to do whatever work comes to me.

I would like to say, for the benefit of those who think their healing slow, that my healing was very slow, for it seemed that I could not turn from the mortal sense of selfhood. All I wanted was the physical healing, and I wanted it at once! As I, however, began to realize that God is Mind and that all His manifestations are good, I felt that I must strive to rid my consciousness of everything unlike God, good. I then began to understand what Christian Science healing really means. From childhood I had been a church-member and thought I was living up to God's requirements, but the search-light of Truth, revealed to me through the study of the Bible and Science and Health, pointed out to me very clearly how far short of divine law I was living, and I was enabled to learn how we must reflect the harmony which is man's God-given inheritance.

I am thankful to God for this truth that sets us free, and to Mrs. Eddy through whom it has been revealed. My desire is the prayer of the psalmist: "Cleanse thou me from secret faults. ... Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."
