THE LECTURES

Orpheus Hall was taxed to its capacity last night [March 3] when Frank H. Leonard of the Christian Science board of lectureship delivered a lecture on the tenets of this religion. Former Congressman Henry Allen introduced the speaker in the following words:—

Christian Science is no longer a mere theory, not even in the minds of the thousands who were at first inclined to consider it so. It has become an established fact, and established in the only way in which a fact can be established, and that is, by proofs and works. The time was, and not so very long ago, when I considered the followers of Christian Science, and believers in it, somewhat in the light of fanatics, and it was not until the time that I was driven into a corner physically, and denied all possibility of escape therefrom through all other sources, that I turned to Christian Science, and there found the truth and the relief which its followers claimed it offered.—Paterson Call.
