It comes to me that it is not only a duty, but a privilege...

It comes to me that it is not only a duty, but a privilege to make an honest acknowledgment of the many blessings received through Christian Science, although they are more than I could enumerate. One of the greatest of these blessings is the apprehension of God as Love. For a number of years I belonged to an orthodox church, and though I read the Bible with an earnest desire to understand its teachings, it was practically a sealed book until illumined through the study of the text-book of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

Some time ago I awoke one morning with what seemed to be a severe cold. I, however, arose and went to business as usual, working and declaring the truth for myself as best I could throughout the day, but with little or no relief. That night I had a high fever, and all the symptoms of a severe case of illness. The next morning I sought the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and in four days I was able to resume my duties at the office. For this healing and for countless other blessings I am grateful to God, and to our Leader, who has labored so patiently and lovingly to teach us how to acquaint ourselves with God,—to gain that knowledge of "the one true God" which Jesus declared "is life eternal." I am also thankful for the Sentinel and Journal, and grateful to a who have helped me to a clearer understanding of this wonderful truth.
