With deep gratitude I desire to express my love and reverence for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who through a life consecrated to good prepared herself to receive the wonderful revelation of Christian Science. I also wish to acknowledge the benefits which have come to me through Christian Science. When I took up the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," it was with no expectation of gaining any direct benefit myself; but during these first few months I was healed of rheumatism, from which I had suffered nearly all my life and had given up all hope of anything more than alleviation of this trouble, which was supposedly hereditary. In Christian Science I learned not only of a new heaven, but of a new earth; I gained a new concept of God as infinite good; I saw Christ as the spiritual idea, revealing man's unity with God, and then the healing was completed. I was also healed of near-sightedness, and delivered to a great extent from the bondage of fear, and I know that perfect freedom will eventually come as I realize more clearly the omnipresence of God.

It is now six years since Christian Science came to me, and in that time I rejoice to see the progress of the Cause and to know that the "still small voice" of Truth is speaking to the whole world the words of peace. I am grateful for all the literature, especially the Quarterly with the Lesson-Sermons. Through their spiritual interpretation of the Scriptures a practical application of the Bible teachings is gained which was hitherto unknown.
