With a heart overflowing with thankfulness to God, and...

With a heart overflowing with thankfulness to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I write the testimony of my healing in Christian Science. I was a teacher in Sunday School and an ardent worker in the church, but I never was in close communion with God until I came to Christian Science. Five years ago, when I turned to it for help, I had a serious eye difficulty, which had caused me untold suffering for ten years. I had been to the best oculist in Boston, to opticians and physicians, but had found no relief. I then turned to Christian Science, although I knew nothing of its teachings nor of its manner of healing. I questioned the practitioner closely, to see if it was Christian and Biblical and free from hypnotism or mesmerism, and with much patience he explained to me the story of Christ Jesus' healing of the sick, so many centuries ago. In three days my eyes were healed, and at the end of the week many other ailments had likewise disappeared. One week's treatment was all that I had, and I came into man's rightful inheritance.

The Master said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I can thankfully say that I am free, and that the knowledge of Christian Science has given me deep spiritual joy. I know that God is Love. I know He is always present, and my joy and peace are beyond all understanding. Christ is to me a living Christ, here and near, and I can say with the patriarch, "I know that my redeemer liveth." Divine Love has blessed me with class instruction, and I have been able to bring to my fellow-men this healing truth. No joy can compare with the joy that comes to us as we are able to awaken another from the bondage of sickness and sin to the freedom of health and holiness. Christ is indeed the way.
