I had never been contented in my own church, and when...

I had never been contented in my own church, and when I noticed the glad faces of the many Christian Scientists around me, I began to attend the services at their church. Very soon one of these kind people loaned me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. At this time I was wearing glasses, but before many months I laid them aside, scarcely realizing that the healing had come through the reading of the text-book. Later, hay-fever and catarrh left me. It was not, however, until a serious attack of fever that I awoke to the fact that I must choose for myself, that I must turn to Christian Science as the whole truth, or else, as my family was begging me to do, resort to medical help. A Christian Science practitioner was called. The struggle seemed a long and difficult one, but the victory was on the side of Truth, as it always is, if we cast our net "on the right side."

This experience fully convinced me that Christian Science is the truth, and I have since been daily striving to show my gratitude for this, and for other healings, by mental and moral betterment. I know that only as the Mind of Christ unfolds in me can I rise to greater heights, and to know that all around me can reflect this same Mind has solved the problem of how to love my neighbor as myself. This is my greatest joy, and though my understanding may be small, I can in this way serve our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who deserves the best we all have to give.—Georgia E. Miller, Chicago, Ill.

It is a year and a half since I came into Christian Science, and I feel it is my duty to acknowledge some of the many benefits I have received. My attention was first brought to it through the healing of my mother, who had been constantly under the doctor's care for several years. As material means had failed, she was told by some friends that Christian Science would help her, and we therefore sought it as a last resort. She had absent treatment, and was instantly relieved. The rejoicing was great among us, and as I desired to know how such wonderful demonstrations were brought about, I wrote to the practitioner, to learn more about it. In reply I was told to study the literature and gain the spirit of the teaching, so I endeavored to apply myself to the study of Science and Health, and I also read nearly all of the other works by Mrs. Eddy. The result was what seemed to me wonderful demonstrations of the power of Truth in two instances. I was also relieved of a growth on my eyelid, which the optician said would necessitate an operation, and I have given up the use of glasses.
