I came to Christian Science with a sorrowful heart,...
I came to Christian Science with a sorrowful heart, having had much trouble, which was followed by the death of my baby. My friends tried to comfort me by saying, "God knows best; His will be done;" but their words meant nothing to me. About two months after this experience a friend took me to a Christian Science practitioner. He assured me that "God is Love," and that He is not the author of suffering. This immediately turned my thoughts to life instead of death, and in two weeks' time I was entirely healed, my sorrow being turned into joy. I have been taught in Christian Science how to love my enemies. I have been perfectly healed of a serious eye difficulty which had been pronounced by two eye specialists not only as incurable, but that it would constantly grow worse. I have left off glasses, which I had worn for eight years, and now use my eyes constantly in any way I wish, without any pain or experiencing any of the former difficulty. Neuralgia, from which I had suffered for years, has entirely disappeared.
For all of this I am indeed thankful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for pointing out the way to divine Truth.
Mrs. Julia T. Atwood, Watertown, Conn.
