Through the spoken word, declaring the power of Truth, in March, 1905, I laid aside an ankle-brace. I had hurt my ankle in childhood so that I had to wear a brace for twenty-one years, all the doctors that I consulted telling me there was no help for me, except cold water applications when the ankle pained me. Believing, however, that nothing is impossible to God, I went to see a Christian Science practitioner, and told her about the difficulty. She asked me if God was not more to me than an ankle-brace, and said, "Can you not trust God and never put it on again?" The words "Can you not trust God," were constantly in my thought after that. I was obedient, took off the brace, and have never put it on again. The first day after leaving it off I did all my housework, walked a mile to the Wednesday evening meeting, and returned home, all without the slightest pain.

Words cannot express my gratitude to God and His Christ, also to Mrs. Eddy for demonstrating the healing truth which has freed me from this bondage. I am especially thankful for the spiritual inspiration which has come through the study of the Bible in connection with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
