In the book of Revelation we read: "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." I was dead before I learned of Christian Science,—dead in Adam," dead "in trespasses and sins;" but through Christian Science treatment I was brought to stand before God, when the books (the sixty-six books of the Bible) were opened, and another book (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy) was opened, which was to me indeed a "book of life;" for, being dead, I was judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to my works, and I commenced to live. I was quickly healed of so-called incurable diseases, but the most important healing was the moral or spiritual. This was nearly twenty years ago, and I am still learning to be charitable regarding others' faults, learning to love, to forgive; and if any injure me, intentionally or otherwise, I sorrow more for them than for myself, for they suffer most. I am more and more able to help others, and I have found that only by so doing can we help ourselves.
