This is a statement of how I first heard of Christian Science and was healed of rheumatism and a serious heart trouble said to result from the rheumatism. For seven years I was a complete wreck, suffering from the above ills and always under the care of doctors, trying different medicines and change of air, but never receiving any benefit. Two and a half years ago, as I was coming home from a "rest-cure." I got to talking with a lady on the train, about a pamphlet she was reading, "The Ministry of Truth." She let me look it over and told me she would send me a copy. I told her how ill I was, and she was so kind that I felt comforted in talking over my troubles. When I asked her what church she attended, she replied, "The Christian Science church." I did not know what she meant, but as she talked with me such a sense of rest and peace came to me that I was sorry when her station was called; but I asked her to write, and she said she would. It was the first time I had felt free from pain in seven years. In a few days I received some Sentinels, and a letter. I read the literature, and after some further correspondence she told me that I should by all means get a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and read and study it. I did as she advised, and today I have no pain and am cured. I am a surprise to all my friends; they think it wonderful that I am so well and happy.

I cannot thank God enough for leading me into the truth, and the lady for showing such kindness to a stranger. In reading Science and Health I found that the Bible, which before I did not understand, is God's Word, and I love the study of it more every day.
