[Written for the Sentinel.]

THE LIGHT

When Love along our pathway leads,
We take no thought for daily needs,—
But stroll along in pastures green
Which hitherto we have not seen;
And tho' the day turns into night,
Love leads us onward toward the light.

And when, at last, we learn to give
Our all to Him in whom we live
And move and breathe, and when we see
Disease and sin and error flee
Before the truth's enduring might,
We've won the crown—we've reached the light.
