Our critic refers to Christian Science as though it came...
Glasgow (Scot.) News
Our critic refers to Christian Science as though it came under the category of systems, devised by the human mind, for the attempted removal of the discords of its own production. The human or "carnal mind" contains the source of all its suffering, but it does not contain the remedy for such suffering. The remedy must come from without, from the divine Mind, God. Christian Science has nothing in common with suggestion, for it acts through the operation of the Mind which was in Christ Jesus, bringing to the consciousness of the patient a knowledge of the truth that makes man free. It brings with it a spiritual awakening which gives one an insight into the kingdom of heaven, and an understanding of the method by which Jesus healed the sick. When the Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out devils through Beelzebub, he told them quite plainly that evil cannot cast out evil, and added: "But if
I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you." This is the method by which Christian Science heals the sick and sinning.
