Christian Science was to me an unknown quantity, in...
Christian Science was to me an unknown quantity, in fact something only to be ridiculed, until the following experience befell me. I had of course heard of its wonderful cures, but I did not realize that it was meant for me. I had been in bed for ten days with an acute attack of illness, said to be appendicitis. I was under a strict diet, had an ice-bag constantly on my side, in fact every known art of medical science was used to save me from an operation, but to no avail. After the ten days' treatment the doctor said an operation was imperative and advised immediate action. Through a visit from a Christian Science friend a practitioner was recommended. I consulted my husband, and we decided that I could put off the operation a day or so without danger and that a trial of Christian Science at least could do no harm. I received my first treatment in the morning, and a couple of hours afterward I got out of bed for the first time in ten days, went down stairs, and atc a light luncheon. When the practitioner called the next morning, I was up and attending to my household duties, strong and well as before.
I am thankful to Christian Science for this demonstration, also for the good it has done me, mentally, physically, and spiritually, in the six months that I have studied it.
Mrs. Roger D. Levy, Everett, Wash.
