Like many others, I have been helped so many times by Christian Science that I would like to give my testimony for the Sentinel, in the hope that it may lead some one into health and happiness as I have been led. About eight years ago it was brought to my notice by a dear friend, and through, the study of our text-book and other Christian Science literature I have been helped over many rough places. I have been healed of a felon on my thumb. It appeared in the afternoon and I slept but little that night. Next morning the thumb was badly swollen and the pain severe. I saw I needed help and that afternoon I went to see a Scientist about twelve miles away. He took up my case, and both of us tried to realize that Truth would do the work. I slept fairly well all night, and awoke next morning to find the swelling greatly reduced, and I experienced but very little pain. I returned home that afternoon and rested fine all night, and arose next morning with a hand as whole as the other and no sense of soreness or pain. I was healed.
On another occasion I was putting the harness on a horse and the animal stamped on my foot, marking it seriously, and for a few minutes the pain seemed unbearable. Then the thought came to me that God is All, and in an hour the pain was about gone and I went on with my work. I worked in mud and water all day without any bad results, and next morning there was no swelling and only a slight sense of soreness. My foot was badly discolored from the bruise, but the healing was complete.
I could tell of many more blessings received through the study of Christian Science, for which words cannot express my gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I say to all who are searching for life and happiness, Take up the cross, bear it, and learn of God.
