In April, 1908, our two little girls had a fever
In April, 1908, our two little girls had a fever. A physician was called, but the younger one, aged three, instead of recovering continued to suffer from various ailments until July, when she had a severe rheumatic trouble besides a return of the eruption. Later she was afflicted with boils, having as many as seven at one time. Her kidneys, stomach, and heart did not act right, and in October we were greatly discouraged when we noticed that she was becoming mentally impaired. She was constantly under the care of physicians, who did all they could for her. It is needless to write of the constant suffering, day and night, with almost no rest, and she had to be carried and cared for like a babe. This was her condition in November, when the physician advised us to take her to Hot Springs; but we turned to Christian Science, though with faint hope of receiving help. We are glad to state that after the first treatment the child rested better than for five months. The kidney trouble and eruption disappeared the first week, and in less than three weeks the child walked eight blocks continuously without asking to be carried. She had treatment for five weeks, and every trace of disease was destroyed.
We are sincerely grateful for the blessing that Christian Science has brought us in the restoration of our child to health, and we wish to express our gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who has enabled us to realize that God is truly "a very present help in trouble."
