After trying a number of doctors, many different kinds of medicine, and undergoing several operations, but finding no cure, I tried Christian Science. For four years or longer I had done nothing but try material remedies, and for several years previous as well I had spent much money in this way. I felt that I must go back to school work again, but was so ill that I could hardly walk across the floor.

A Christian Science friend came to see me one evening. Her coming just at that time seemed providential, and when I told her of my trouble she advised me to let medicine alone and see what God would do. She then gave me treatment for three weeks. This was over five years ago, and I have never felt the need of material help since. The healing came to me slowly, but when I read the Bible and Science and Health thoughtfully and applied their teachings, it was made plain to me that the truth is the only remedy. The more I read and apply it to the overcoming of my faults, the clearer the Bible readings become. My work is done better when I read the whole Lesson-Sermon every day, and there is an inward feeling that I am gaining a clearer sense of Principle. I am thankful to Mrs. Eddy, who has made known to us this practical Christianity, and above all to God, who is all-power..
