A Christian Scientist readily recognizes that the critic has not discovered what Christian Science gives in place of that which it repudiates. As a matter of fact Christian Science increases one's interest in nature and one's thirst for knowledge, and it emphasizes in the strongest manner possible the importance of old-fashioned Christian virtues. If Christian Science tends to make one look away from pain to God, Dr. Paget should not complain, if indeed he believes the Scriptures which teach, "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth."

Christian Science is in strict accord with the Scriptural teaching concerning the Lord's Supper, and in respect to all the ordinances, although it may differ from the critic in regard to their significance. The doctor is rather late in his criticism of the reported cures of Christian Science, when we consider the fact that it is known to even the most casual observer that Christian Science really heals, and there is scarcely an individual who does not know some friend who has been healed by its ministry.
